Missing Parts?

How many times per day do you have a student hand you a random item that they found?
A little eraser, a math cube, pattern block, (even a staple off the floor...)?
I love my new "Missing Parts" bucket.
The kiddos just put what ever they find in there and we empty it when we have time!
$1.00 at Target!

Curriculum Night Welcome!

Families were greeted by their little ones handprints. Awww...
My hubby made me the cute owl!  My current obsession!

We don't get to do crafty things very often, so when we do, it's a blast.
We made these little owls out of TP tubes and cupcake liners!
I got the idea from {HERE}.
Our room looked super cute!
You can also check out my Curriculum Night Power Point available on TpT.
I showed this along with student work, showing expectations and what level 4, 3, 2 and 1 would look like.
I had some great parent feedback.

I forgot to post the super cute pic of Skippyjon Jones, with his book from Kohls.  $5.00 each!

I talked my 15 year old son into spending an hour of his last summer day by helping me glue pencils to a lamp shade.  It definitely wasn't a one person job!  It turned out cute!  The kids love it and is great light during read aloud.

I finally have some pics to share of my classroom.  I made it through the first week!  I have an amazing class this year.  I'm so excited!  I'm teaching a 2nd and 3rd grade split class and they are all independent and hard workers!  Most of my ideas I found on Pinterest and some of the cute things you see I bought or downloaded free on the Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT) Store.  I linked each one.

This is our super cute new reading nook!  The kids love it and are begging to read!
Great problem right?
Don't you love the lamp? Under $9.00 shade and all at Target!  Woo Hoo!
Here is the link to the FREE (love it, right!?) CAFE sign for Daily 5.

Are all available on the TpT store.  They are too cute!

My welcome bulletin board, "Whooo is in Our Class?"
And some erasers I made for the kids for the first day reminding them that no one is perfect!

And last but not least...our class pet.
Delta.  He is a Male Delta Fancy Fin Beta Fish.
